MedEd09 will draw heavily on the work and recommendations generated from the very successful MedEd07 Conference. As a result of this Conference the key recommendations document, as found on this web site, received endorsement by all the major national stakeholder organisation in medical education. In addition, the recommendations were reviewed by the Medical Training and Review Panel and many of the actions incorporated into their upcoming workplan. Other key stakeholders have also progressed many of the agenda items that were highlighted as part of the Conference.

MedEd05 and MedEd07, because of their wide stakeholder engagement, have set the platform for continuing national Conferences like these to actively engage with contemporary medical education and training issues. Many lessons have also been learnt from these previous Conferences and will inform hopefully a smarter and engaged Conference for 2009.
